In the summer of 2018 TRIO student Jada Paul interned at the African-American Cultural Center. While at the Center, she explored what diversity and inclusion mean though the lens of ethnic foods. Ms. Paul incorporated past director Lori Barcliff Baptista’s exhibit It Ain’t Where You’re From as well as information about the Centers for Cultural Understanding and Social Change in her research. In her video, Ms. Paul interviewed her peers and teachers about their experiences with different foods.

The summer of 2016 we had the pleasure of having Jessica Foster, Elizabeth Gonzaga, Miliyea Greene, Adam Harris, Ariel Evans, Daniel Methene, and Johnae Brown as our TRIO interns. They, like many students on campus, had a difficult time finding the African-American Cultural Center. The interns helped us create a video showing where exactly (or not exactly) our center is.
