Patricia A Stewart
Biography
Patricia A Stewart is the proud owner of Studio 3140, Wet Paintbrush, at the Bridgeport Art Center. She is a member of Sapphire and Crystals, Creative Artists Association (CAA), and the Chicago Alliance of Visual Artists (CAVA). She is a Board Member for CAVA and on the Board of Directors for the South Side Community Art Center.
Her artistic strengths lay in sculpture abstract, spiritual, and whimsical assemblages. Her paintings, collages, dry pastels and acrylics are exquisitely handled and composed in her own distinctive style. Her works shatter tradition where her imaginative techniques dance with honor and grace. She illustrates the eclectic elements amid cultures and arrange them with rhythmic intent for the sake of communication.
Mrs. Stewart is a graduate of the College of Communications from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. She furthered her studies at the School of the Art Institute, Chicago; International School of Art and Design in Georgia. Mrs. Stewart was also awarded her educational and master's degrees in both education and educational administration at Chicago State University. She is a retired secondary education art teacher, art curriculum developer, curriculum coach, lead teacher, and graphic artist for the Chicago Public Schools.
My works reveal the integrity of the human spirit, the sensitivities of life, the unity of family, the fidelity of friends, and pride in my heritage.
